Jeremy was born and raised here in Evansville. He met his wife Shelly in middle school at church. As a young teenager, he came to faith in Jesus, and after serving on several mission trips to Mexico, he started to feel the calling of going into ministry. The road to that calling has been filled with many speed bumps, but God’s timing is perfect. Jeremy and Shelly married in July of 2004 at the church where they met. Dealing with infertility for years, they finally adopted their son, Josiah, in 2011.
Also in 2011, while working at Toyota, the nudge towards ministry became stronger. He took the leap of faith and went back to school full-time and left Toyota in 2012. In May of 2016, he graduated Suma Cum Laude from Liberty University, with a Bachelors of Religion in Christian Ministry. Everyone who knew Jeremy in high school knew he was a less than stellar student, so this was a huge deal.
Jeremy has a huge heart for the nations and a passion to see the Great Commission come to fruition. Traveling to Myanmar to train and equip church planters has become a favorite thing to do.
He is currently working as the General Manager at Bob’s Gym on the north side of Evansville, doing ministry in the marketplace, and serving God while waiting for God’s calling to go.
It’s an honor that Jesus calls ragamuffins like me to reach His people. God uses the ordinary to do the EXTRAordinary. We just have to be humble and willing. Jesus commands us all to go out to the ends of the earth to make disciples, to baptize, and to teach. My aim in life is to worship God through reaching the lost and making disciples. I love the mission of Encounter: Reaching, Teaching, and Unleashing!
