1 Corinthians - True Power

The foundation: 

1- The power of God is incomparable to worldly power

2- The more you plug into one power source; the less you draw from the other. 

How do we plug into the world’s power source? 

1- Reliance on “eloquence,” charm, and clever thinking (17-18)

2- Rely on human logic/ wisdom above God’s Word (19-25)

3- Pursuing positions rather than pursuing God (1:26-31)

4- Trusting the ways of man rather than the ways of Jesus 

How do we plug into God’s power? 

1- Live as a disciple of Jesus 

2- Trust God’s gifts and power rather than your own creativity (1:17-18)

3- Continually meditate on God's Word (1:19-25)

4- Pursue faithfulness rather than positions/ titles/ milestones (26-31)

5- Pray/ rely on the Spirit of God (1 Cor 2)
